Tirumantiram 144 - Tantra 1 - Impressions and wisdom alone accompany us upon disembodiment

பண்டம்-பெய் கூரை பழகி விழுந்த-அக்கால்

உண்ட அப்பெண்டிரும் மக்களும் பின்-செலார்

கொண்ட விரதமும் ஞானமும் அல்லது

மண்டி அவருடன் வழி நடவாதே.   144.

பண்டம் = அறிவு; பெய் = பொழி; கூரை = சிற்றில் = மணல் வீடு;
பழகி = வழங்கி = ஆட்சி செய்து; கால் = காலம்;

உண்ட = இசைவாகிய; கொண்ட = பற்றிய; விரதம் = ஆணை = அடையாளம்; 

மண்டி = முழந்தாளால் நின்று 

(இருவகை) அறிவு பொழியும் மணல் வீடாகிய சூக்கும உடல், ஆட்சி செய்து பின்னர் பௌதிக உடலை விட்டு நீங்கிய அத்தருணத்தில், அச்சூக்கும உடலோடடிசைவாக இலகிய அந்தப் பெண்களும் மற்றும்  (மக்களாகிய) சந்ததியினர் மற்றும் (பல்வேறுவிதமாக உறவாடிய) மனிதர்களும், அச்சூக்கும உடலின் பின்னே சென்றிட மாட்டார்கள்.  (தான் விழைந்து) பற்றிய சூக்கும உடலின் இயல்பாம் அடையாளங்களும் மற்றும் ஞானமும் அல்லாமல், வேறு எவையும் 

அச்சூக்கும உடலுடன் அதன் வழியில் சென்றிடாவே.

உடல் நமக்கு வந்தமையப்பெற்றது, நம்மோடு எக்காலத்துமிலகும் சூக்கும உடலின் அடையாளங்கள் மற்றும் ஞானத்தை நிரப்பிக்கொள்ளற்கேயென்க.  

Literal Translation
1  Knowledge-pouring sand-house having ruled fallen-that-time
2  Agreeable-to-became those-women-and folks(-and) behind-go-will-not
3  Beheld mark-and wisdom(-and) other[one(s)-than]held
4  Kneeled-down him-with path traverse-will-not (lo! coursed thus!)

Lucid Translation
1  At that time when the knowledge-pouring sand-house (of the subtle body) 

    having ruled has fallen (outside the physical frame on death),
2  those women and folks, who became agreeable to that subtle body and its 

    knowledge, while alive in the physical frame), will not go behind it (the subtle 

    body).
3  Other than the beheld mark(/s) of impression and wisdom,
4  lo! (anything else) will not traverse the path (outside the physical frame), 

    kneeling down with him (!) (that disembodied subtle body)
